The Greene County Sheriff’s Office Jail K9 division was established in 2023. We partnered with Rescue One to help search for our Jail Service Dogs. The K9’s are Apollo, Batman, Griz and Loki. Our K9 teams are trained to detect hidden narcotics within the jail which helps prevent overdoses.
Deputy Cameron has been with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office since August of 2020 working in the Jail Division as a detention officer. K9 Apollo is a Weimaraner/Lab mix and was rescued in the Polk County area. After being selected, Deputy Cameron and Apollo went through extensive training and received their certification in June of 2023.
Deputy Dillard has been with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office since May of 2020, working in the Jail Division as a detention officer. K9 Batman is a shepherd mix and was rescued by Rescue One. After being selected, Deputy Dillard and Batman went through extensive training and received their certification in June of 2023.
Officer Kyt has been with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office since June of 2024, working in the Jail Division as a detention officer. Prior to coming to the Sheriff’s Office, Officer Kyt worked with K9s in the U.S. Army. K9 Loki is a shepherd mix and came to work for the Sheriff’s Office in 2021 originally on Patrol. K9 Loki now uses his incredible narcotic detection skills within the jail.
Deputy Wallis has been with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office since November of 2021 working in the Jail Division as a Detention Officer. K9 Griz is a German Shepherd and was rescued in the Taney County area. After being selected, Deputy Wallis and Griz went through extensive training and received their certification in June of 2023.
