Property Returns are made by appointment only. If you wish to claim property you may contact the Property and Evidence Room at (417) 829-6669. There will be no returns without an appointment.
Public hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, closing for holidays.
Property that is considered "found", or being held for "safekeeping" will be held 60 days and then it will be disposed of. An extension for an additional 10 months may be granted if you submit a written request to the Property Room.
Consumable items are not able to be returned. This includes items such as medications, tobacco, food, and beverages. The Property and Evidence Room staff does not have the authority to make decisions on property disposition or ownership. They are not able to give case information. If you have questions concerning your case you must contact the Deputy or Detective investigating your case.
The Property and Evidence Room does not house vehicles. You will need to contact the Records Department at (417) 829-6235 for information on your towed vehicle.
If you have personal property that was left at the Greene County Jail when you were incarcerated, you will need to contact the Greene County Jail at (417) 868-4048.
