Thank you for your interest in CARES Act Relief Fund grant information.
The goal of the CARES Act Relief Fund is to promote recovery by funding programs and services that support the needs of those impacted by the COVID-19 public health emergency. As part of this fund, Greene County has received $34 million to help support local coronavirus response efforts. These funds will be distributed back into our community for area expenses related to the virus and to help mitigate the impact of COVID-19.
As a means to streamline the fund distribution process and to meet the immediate needs of residents, business owners, nonprofit organizations and our municipal and community partners, the Greene County Commission has developed an organizational structure for payments that centers on six priority areas:
Grant guidelines and application processes are being developed and will be made available on this section of the Greene County website. A community advisory council will then review those applications and make recommendations to the Greene County Commission for final decisions.
Several citizens have inquired about another round of CARES-type funding for eligible businesses and organizations. While Greene County anticipates receiving funds as part of the recently passed American Rescue Plan (ARP) legislation, nothing has been received at this time. The County is also awaiting that program’s guidelines and regulations. We appreciate your patience as the ARP is rolled out nationwide.
Greene County will communicate ARP details as soon as they are available. Updates will be made to this website and through news releases. (Please note, the Emergency Rental Assistance program is currently underway and more information on that specific funding is available at: https://greenecountymo.gov/era/)
