The Springfield-Greene County Office of Emergency Management hosts CERT training courses to members of the public interested in taking care of themselves and their families during disasters and/or becoming a CERT volunteer. During training, participants will learn the basic disaster preparedness skills both in the classroom and in the field. Course curriculum includes:
Training concludes with class participants responding to a simulated disaster to practice the skills they have learned.
Our next CERT Basic Academy class is a hybrid-style course with some virtual lessons combined with seated classes and practical exercises. For the fall of 2024,
we have two options: a traditional two-weekend class November 16th and 23rd and an evening class option on Tuesdays beginning September 24th and running through
the practical exercise on November 23rd. For the November full weekend class you can register here:
