After completing the CERT basic training series, participants will have the opportunity to apply to become an official CERT volunteer with the Office of Emergency Management. As a registered member, your name will be added to a pool of core volunteers the OEM may call upon for assistance in a variety of roles during disasters (ice storms, tornadoes, floods, etc.) or pre-planned events (fairs, parades, concerts, etc.). You will also be eligible for enhanced training in a variety of disaster preparedness and response courses we offer only to authorized volunteers.
