If you have been the victim of the crime of domestic violence, I want you to know that you
are important to us. My staff and I will do all that we can to help you make it through
this process. Domestic violence is one of the great destroyers of our families and society
today. Victims of domestic violence include not only abused adults, but also include the
children who see and hear the physical and emotional abuse by the abuser against the abused
adult. Far too often, children are also subject to similar direct physical and emotional
abuse by the abuser.
We are here to help you through the process of using the criminal justice system to try
and stop the abuser's cycle of violence in the home. The Victim/Witness Service Office is
here to provide assistance to victims of domestic violence. They are here to help you and
your family. Please let them assist you during this traumatic time in your life.
