GPS/SCRAM
The Pretrial office has the ability to assist with the cost of GPS and SCRAM in some cases. The office contracts
with Court Probationary Services, a third-party vendor which is responsible for all GPS and SCRAM monitoring
for all of these cases. Eligibility for this service is outlined below:
-
Defendants must reside in the state of Missouri.
-
Defendants must be Court ordered to be supervised by the Pretrial Services office.
-
Defendants must have an approved home plan. The home plan cannot be at low income or subsidized housing,
unless their name is on the lease agreement.
-
Defendants must have someone co-sign for the equipment for them. The co-signer is agreeing to incur the
costs for the equipment should the defendant cease reporting to Pretrial Services and fail to return the
GPS or SCRAM equipment to Court Probationary Services (CPS). The co-signer would also be responsible for
any damaged equipment returned to CPS. The co-signer may not be relieved of the responsibility without
being replaced by a new co-signer. The co-signer may not be an alleged victim in the case.
-
All co-signers should have verification of employment, and a picture ID when they go to the CPS office
to co-sign. Anyone on a fixed or limited income will not be considered to be a co-signer.
-
Defendants who have not returned GPS or SCRAM equipment to CPS in the past, or have an outstanding balance
for damaged equipment will not be considered for new county paid equipment until the balance with CPS has
been verified paid in full.
-
All defendants MUST maintain charged equipment throughout their supervision while on county paid equipment.
Failure to do so will result in a violation report being submitted to the court notifying them of such.
