The Victim Impact Panel is a program offered by the Center for Dispute Resolution at Missouri State
University in partnership with the Greene County Juvenile Office. The purpose of this program is to provide
a safe, appropriate environment where people who have been impacted by crime and young people who have
committed offenses can talk about the impact of crime.
Juvenile Victim Impact Panels are meaningful ways for juvenile offenders to learn how their actions affect
not only their victims, but their friends, family, and community. The juvenile offenders meet with surrogate
victims of similar offenses to hear that person's story of how the crime impacted their life. The juveniles
engage in the panel asking questions and are required to write an essay on their experience. For common
questions asked about this program please refer below to The VIP Program Brochure.
