One of the primary responsibilities of the Missouri State Tax Commission is the supervision of
assessing offices and assessment practices in the state. In implementing its supervisory role,
the Commission frequently contacts the state's assessors to disseminate administrative, legal,
appraisal, and equalization advice to assist assessors in the performance of their duties.
The Greene County Assessor's Office submits documentation to the Commission throughout the year,
as required by state statutes, to demonstrate that properties are being fairly assessed.
